Wahl Avalon Battery Charger

My Avalon Clipper Has Stopped Working ?

Signs that your Avalon Charger is not working:

  • Your Avalon charger does not significantly heat up when charging.
  • If your Avalon Battery is not hot at the end of the charge.
  • The green light on the battery does not flash at the end of the charge.

Signs that your Avalon Battery is faulty:

  • Battery charges ok: charger gets hot, battery gets hot and green light flashes.
  • But when you start clipping your clipper has low power and does not last long.

Still not sure what the problem is? Send your clipper to us for a clipper service and we will assess any problems and the cost to repair them.

Babyliss Pro Battery Re Cell Service

Babyliss Pro Cordless Clipper Repair

Jane sent us her Babyliss Pro barbers clipper to repair. She had removed the blades for cleaning and could not get them to work again. We cleaned and repaired the clipper, sharpened the blades and offered Jane the option of fitting a new battery if required.

The Babyliss Pro is a good quality barbers clipper and with a new battery fitted and sharp blades Jane’s clipper is working well. 👍

(Cordless clippers are often stored in a stand which keeps it constantly on charge. To extend the battery lifespan you can turn off the charging stand when you wont be using the clipper. For example a hairdresser can turn the power off at night and on days when they aren’t working.)

  • Drive block – £3
  • New head screw – £7
  • Supply Hauptner clipper blade (refurbished) – £20

Thanks Khalid for sending your trimmer, its working nicely after being repaired. 🖐

SL Service - Your Clipper Service and Sharpening Specialist

Customer Returned Scissors

We sharpened 5 scissors for Rosemary who uses them to cut various fabric. Rosemary returned 3 scissors to us as she believes them to not be sharpened correctly.

Having inspected the scissors we assess them to be sharpened to a high standard with sharp cutting edges and properly maintained inside faces. The scissors Rosemary sent are general purpose scissors which work fine for most purposes but can struggle on thicker fabric.

For reliably cutting thick fabric you do need sturdy scissors which don’t flex and ideally have slightly hollow blade faces.

We did refund Rosemary but as we assessed the work to have been done correctly we cannot accept any further orders from her. 😐

singer sewing scissors sharpening

Old Singer Sewing Scissors

Mike sent us his set of singer sewing scissors with sentimental value having belonged to his mother.

They were not in great condition having notched cutting edges, being tarnished and rusty in places and with a loose hinge screw that could not be unscrewed.

  • Drilled out the old screw, cleaned the screw threads and fitted a new screw with lock nut.
  • Cleaned and polished scissors to restore their shine.
  • Sharpened and polished the notched cutting edges and re established a nice ride line on the inside face.
  • Cost £20 + postage.

Thanks Mike for sending your scissors, they are working well now.  🖐
