There are many brands of hair cutting scissors for sale with the cheaper ones around £30 and high end scissors for £300+
This wide range in cost makes selling scissors an opportunity for entrepreneurs to charge high prices for basic scissors.
I have seen dreadful £100 scissors and superb £30 scissors. How can you tell the difference you might ask ??
The best Brands have their own factories and distinctive quality workmanship that raises them above ordinary scissors. These scissors look and feel special and distinctive and cost £100+
They are beautiful and made of the best hard steel.
Moderate quality scissors can look a little plain but you will notice they cut hair nicely. These cost £50+
The design is less distinctive but they are made of good hard steel.
Cheaper £30 scissors should work fine but they usually look generic and the cutting can be less smooth and jagged.
These can sometimes be made of cheap soft steel but lots are actually OK.
I think the scissors at Burtons and Christies are properly priced so you should get what you pay for.
